Felt roofs are usually covered by roofing felt, with a coat of bitumen (asphalt or tar) and sometimes gravel to protect against the sun's heat,
UV rays and weather.
Sheet metal flashings are also used to provide extra protection.
Some felt roofs use large one-piece sheets/membranes such as EPDM synthetic rubber, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or TPO (thermplastic polyolefin).
Regular maintenance of a Felt roof and it's linked drains is essential to minimise the risk of any damage and guard against leaks.
